This comparison ranks the major US chains by how fast a normal ordering habit reaches free food — and flags the one program that actually got better in 2026.

Which free pizza comes fastest
By order count: Domino's, and it is not close
Six qualifying orders of $5 or more earn 60 points — a free medium two-topping pizza. No other national chain gets you to actual free pizza in six ordinary orders, and since the 2023 revamp you can bank smaller redemptions from just 20 points along the way. The one thing to respect is the 180-day inactivity clock.
By percentage back: Casey's on pizza, then Papa Johns
Casey's double-points rule pays an effective 8% back on whole pizzas — the best published percentage in the category — though it is a convenience-store chain, so treat it as a bonus where you already shop. Papa Johns pays roughly 10% back in Papa Dough, but read the next paragraph before celebrating.
The Papa Dough catch
Papa Johns points last a year, but the Papa Dough credit they convert into expires 60 days after it appears — regardless of account activity. The program effectively hands you a coupon on a timer every time you cross 10 points. If you order monthly or more, that is fine; if you order occasionally, expect to watch credit evaporate.
The transparency problem: Pizza Hut and Little Caesars
Pizza Hut's program earns a headline 10 points per dollar, but the company does not publish what any redemption costs — its own FAQ states that items and point values vary and may change without notice, with live values shown only inside your account. That makes the program impossible to evaluate before joining, which is presumably the point. Many third-party sites still quote point costs from the old 2017-era Hut Rewards; those numbers are obsolete and we have deliberately not repeated them.
Little Caesars, meanwhile, has no points program at all. Since September 2024 its app runs "Challenges" — complete a pushed task (buy a certain item, hit a spend level in the app) and a promo code arrives about a day later. In-store and website orders do not count, and there is no balance to track. It is closer to a coupon machine than a loyalty program, which at Little Caesars' price point is not necessarily a criticism.
The rare program that got better: Marco's
Loyalty programs in this category almost only ever change in one direction, which makes Marco's worth noting: effective April 27, 2026, it halved the certificate threshold from 100 points for $10 to 50 points for $5. The percentage back is unchanged, but rewards now arrive twice as often and members with 50+ points at the changeover received a certificate immediately. Points never expire — unique among the chains here — though the certificates themselves still last only 60 days.
